![]() ![]() Introduces Sonic's sidekick and best friend, Miles "Tails" Prower, a fox with two tails that he can spin to make him fly without getting tangled up because physics don't matter unless we're underwater and scarring children for life. The first of many, many sequels, 1992's Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Jon tron time commando series#Like, why? I'll be sticking to the Japanese versions of the plots because once the series jumped to 3D, the Western versions did too. Really, about the only complex thing about the story is how Sega of America decided to change the story for. The world's only hope is Sonic the Hedgehog, who runs really fast. Robotnik/Eggman is trying to conquer the planet Mobius/Earth with an army of robots he powers by sealing living creatures inside of them. The story, as is often the case in these games, is simple: The evil Dr. We seriously start with 1991's Megadrive classic, Sonic the Hedgehog. You gonna edit this seriously now? You mean it? Good. If we're making THAT obvious joke three minutes in, I may as well not even bother. No, this series isn't going to get anywhere. Naturally, the timeline begins where the series began, a simple little game called Sonic The Hedgehog. Oh, and just as a friendly warning, if the pattern of Sonic anniversary games is anything to go by, then 2016. Conjecture! To make things simpler, we'll be ignoring crossovers like Sega All-Stars and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, and games set explicitly outside the main canon like Dr. I'm also going to be using the word 'conjecture' a lot because it's one of my favourite words. Not counting alternate versions and ports, the Sonic franchise consists of over 60 games that weren't necessarily designed with a clear, ongoing continuity in mind so, fair warning: there's going to be a fair amount of conjecture on my part. Today is Sonic's 25th anniversary and with a history and library almost as long as Super Mario, this isn't going to be simple. Of the five games we owned, three of them were the hedgehog's early outings, so in addition to being created the same year as the blue blur, his games were probably the first I ever played, so the Sonic franchise is very special to me. The first game system I ever owned was the Sega Megadrive, because only a total scrub would call it the Genesis. So let's kick things off with one of my favourite game franchises of all time: Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm sure you're wondering, what is this show and why am I doing it? Well, since making my Devil May Cry timeline video last year, I've been on a real timeline kick, compiling quite a few of them for my DeviantArt gallery and I wanted to take it even further, because once I get into something, I become an obsessive lunatic who can't stop himself. Welcome to A LINE THROUGH T⌛ME, where I take the time to look through your favourite franchises and work out how it all lines up. ![]()
